Over $14M invested in border terminals of Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province

As much as 600 billion rials (over $14.28 million) have been invested in the expansion of 5 border terminals in Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province, and as a result the transit of products increased, Arslan Shokri, director general of Iran’s West Azerbaijan Road and Road Transport Department, said in an interview with IRNA.

He said that 5 out of 22 border terminals are located in the West Azerbaijan Province, and this shows that the province is important in international transit.

He added that the Bazargan, Razi and Sero terminals operate at the border with Turkey, the Sanambulagi terminal operates at the border with Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Tamarchin terminal operates at the border with Iraq.

He added that the Bazargan border terminal is the largest in Iran.
