BioCubaFarma, the Cuban biggest manufacturer and exporter of medicine, is interested in investing in creation of pharmaceutical structures in the High-Tech Park of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences, Director of the High-Tech Park Nazim Shukurov told Trend.
“This issue is being discussed through the mediation of the Cuban embassy in Azerbaijan,” he said.
"In particular, the issue of the visit of the staff of the academy to Cuba with the purpose of reviewing BioCubaFarma’s activity is being considered,” Shukurov added. “We hope that the staff will visit Cuba next year. BioCubaFarma is a transnational corporation with a turnover of more than $100 billion. This organization is interested in investing in the creation of pharmaceutical structures in the High-Tech Park."
BioCubaFarma is working on hundreds of research projects, including those aimed at the prevention and treatment of cancer, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. One of the megaprojects of the corporation is a program of therapeutic molecules for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and multiple sclerosis.
BioCubaFarma is also responsible for providing pharmacies, clinics, hospitals and institutes with equipment, reagents and diagnostic products.
