Production of bullet-proof vests launched in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani company Buta Armor has launched the production of bullet-proof vests at the High-Tech Park of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Director of High-Tech Park Nazim Shukurov told Trend.

"The first batch of bullet-proof vests will be supplied from January 2019,” he said.

Earlier, it was reported that investments of eight million euros were planned to be made in the production of bullet-proof vests in Azerbaijan. The bullet-proof vests will be supplied to the law enforcement agencies of the country.

Germany's EPC Group built the production building and equipment was supplied by Bulgarian company MARS Armor.

MARS Armor was founded in 2002. It is known today as one of the leading European manufacturers of armored fighting vehicles and bullet-proof vests. The company cooperates with 45 countries. The company's products were tested by NATO and were certified upon ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001: 2004, NIJ-0101.06 and NIJ -0101.04 standards.

The annual production capacity of the company is approximately 120,000 bullet-proof vests, 200,000 armor plates and 60,000 ballistic helmets.
