Some $113M to be allocated for road sector dev't in Kazakhstan's Turkistan region

As much as 42.65 billion tenge will be allocated from the state and regional budgets for the development of the road sector in the Turkistan region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing the Kazakh media.

The press service of the region’s administration informed that the funds will be used for construction and installation work of 69 objects, 974.2 kilometers of roads and streets, and 8 bridges.

It should be noted that in November 2018, the administration of the Turkistan region and the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development signed the "Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation on the Development of Road and Transport Infrastructure of Turkistan city".

"Based on the memorandum, the state budget provides for the allocation of 7.6 billion tenge for the repair of local roads in 2019," the region’s administration said.

This year, 2.59 billion tenge from the regional budget is provided for repair work on the streets of Turkistan. In addition, the region’s administration is developing a feasibility study for the construction of the road to the new airport. The total length of the road will be 11.7 kilometers.

Also, the construction of a new bus station will begin in Turkistan, which will be able to serve 10,000 passengers per day.
