Georgia expands gas supply network

Gas supply network in Georgia is acquiring a larger scale and more than 6,000 settlements will be supplied with gas, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava said, Trend reports citing commersant.ge.

The minister met with governor of the Gurian region of Georgia Zurab Nasaria and the directors of the Georgian gas transmission companies.

“We continue the three-year gas supply plan implemented by the government. In accordance with this plan, gas will be supplied to 226 new settlements, and the level of gasification in Georgia will reach 85 percent. Among them, there are settlements where gas was never supplied before,” said Natia Turnava.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, it controls the construction of the pipeline in the villages of Atsana and Chala in the municipality of Lanchkhuti of Georgia, which were not supplied with gas as of today. Within the project, the pipeline with a length of 38,542 meters will be constructed and 503 households will have access to natural gas. The works will be completed in the first half of November this year. The total cost of the project is 1,391,236 lari.
