In the first six months of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), investments worth 422 billion rials (approximately $10 million) have been made in the industrial and manufacturing sector in Khomeyn district of Iran’s Markazi province, said Mohammad Reza Soleimani, director of the Industry, Mine and Trade Department of Khomeyn district, Trend reports via IRNA.

He noted that these investments were made as part of 13 projects in the industrial and manufacturing sectors and 143 new jobs were created in the district.

He added that investments in the industrial sector increased last year as a result of the investors’ promotion work compared to the same period last year.

“During the first six months of this year, creation of 28 industrial facilities has been licensed and 852 people will be employed as a result,” he said.

It is forecast that investments worth 2.54 trillion rials (about $60.5 million) will be needed for launching these facilities, he noted.

He added that investors will be more interested in the industrial park in Khomeyn district if the conditions are created for electricity, water and railway infrastructure.

There are 160 manufacturing, industrial and mining facilities in the Khomeyn district. About 2,000 people are employed in this area.
