Iran's exports via Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari province exceed $25M

In the first six months (March 21 - Sept. 22) of the current Iranian year, Iran's exports via borders of its Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province amounted to $26 million in monetary terms, Director of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Customs Administration Esmail Allahdadi said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

During the reported period, the weight of the exported goods reached 27.5 million tons, Allahdadi said.

Compared to the same period of the last Iranian year, the amount of the exports decreased by 45 percent in terms of the weight, he added.

Main exports goods included various household items, rubber products, almonds, electrical equipment and metal products, said the customs administration director.

Main exports destinations were Iraq, India, the UAE, Afghanistan and Turkey, he director added.

During the reported six months, Iran imported goods for $15.5 million via the borders of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, he said, adding that the imports shrank by about 70 percent in monetary terms.

One of the main item of the imports were electrical goods, which were mostly imported from European countries, Allahdadi said.

The customs official added that the main reasons of dwindling exports and imports are the US sanctions on Iran, raw material scarcity and liquidity issues.
