Qyzyljar Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will be created in Kazakhstan’s North Kazakhstan region, the Head of the region Kumar Aksakalov said, Trend reports with reference to Aksakalov's official Facebook.

“Modern and export-oriented manufacturing will be set up on the territory of SEZ, which in turn will create some 3,000 new work places. The first stage of the construction will require investments worth 160 billion tenge (approximately $411.208 million). The zone will be operating over the course of 25 years. The planned value of manufactured goods during this period is 1.5 trillion tenge (approximately $3.860 billion),” Aksakalov said.

He added that this will be the only SEZ in the border regions of Russia and Kazakhstan, which includes activities such as manufacturing and processing of food, construction materials, furniture, electronics and mechanical engineering.

“Business will be provided with tax incentives, necessary infrastructure will be built with state help. We expect both local and foreign investors to be interested as well. The creation of SEZ will give a powerful impetus to the region’s development,” Aksakalov concluded.
