Production of manufacturing industry significantly increases in Uzbekistan

Manufacturing enterprises produced goods worth 21.1 trillion soum ($2.21 billion) or 75.7 percent of the total volume of industry in January 2020, Trend reports with the reference to Committee of Statistics of Uzbekistan.

In the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises on production, repair, assembly of machinery and equipment, production of cars, trailers, semi-trailers and other finished products amounted to 19.9 percent (the physical volume index reached 122 percent by January 2019), metallurgical industry – 24,1 percent (101.3 percent), enterprises producing textile, clothing and leather goods - 17.3 percent (110.7 percent), food, beverages and tobacco goods - 14.8 percent (105.7 percent), and chemical, rubber and plastic goods - 9.9 percent (108.2 percent).

In January 2020, the automobile industry produced 5,962 Nexia cars (129 percent growth rate against the same period of 2019), 5,078 Cobalt cars (147.4 percent), 4,340 Gentra cars (155 percent), 3,989 Damas cars (135.2 percent), 2,320 Spark cars (148.7 percent) and 7,288 Labo cars (47.8 percent).

The volume of production by the enterprises of power supply, gas, steam and air conditioning made up 2.6 trillion soum ($271.7 million0, comprising 9.4 percent of the total industry volume.

Physical volume index of the industry increased by 2.5 percent compared to the same period in 2019.

Currently, 71,500 industrial enterprises are operating in Uzbekistan, of which 15,100 (21.1 percent of the total number of operating enterprises) are located in Tashkent city, 7,700 (10.8 percent) - in Ferghana, 7,700 (10.7 percent) - Tashkent region, 6,600 (9.3 percent) - Andijan, 6,100 (8.5 percent) - Samarkand and 5,500 (7.7 percent) - Namangan regions.

In January 2020, 1,235 industrial enterprises accounted for newly established in country, 205 of which (16.6 percent of the total number of newly established enterprises) were located in Tashkent city, 127 (10.3 percent) in Tashkent region, 127 (10.3 percent) in Andijan, 117 (9.5 percent) in Khorezm, 116 (9.4 percent) in Samarkand and 100 (8.1 percent) in Ferghana.
