Iran to provide payment packages to business owners hit by COVID-19

Iran's Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare has suggested supportive payment packages to be provided for business owners that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the official with the ministry, Aladin Ouzaji said, Trend reports via IRNA.

"The loans and bank advances can be received on May 13," he said.

"It has been approved that 13 business groups are to receive government's support. The Central Bank of Iran has assigned $11 billion for the damaged businesses. In the first phase, 20 banks and financial institutes will provide some $9 billion from this figure to employers," he said.

"Employers and self-insured individuals can receive the loans by providing social security code of their business," he said.

" The Social Security Organization will transfer the data that would cover 1 million businesses and 3 million workers," he added.

"Applicants should submit their information online and their data will be transfer to agent banks in three days," he said.

"Businesses will receive 120 million rials (about $280) worth of loans per one worker, while production units that were forced to close will receive 160 million rials (about $38,000) each," Ouzaji said.
