Azerbaijan's large industrial plant talks on working regime amid lockdown

Azerbaijan’s Ganja Instrument-Making Plant went on to partial working regime amid the ongoing lockdown, the plant’s Deputy Director Yusif Pashazade told Trend.

As of now, the plant has been operating at 15-20 percent of its capacity.

According to the deputy director, the main production workshops of the enterprise are slightly involved in fulfilling small volumes of orders periodically taken by the plant.

“We look forward to the phased launch of the plant’s production workshops according to the orders that are received locally. After restart at full capacity, the enterprise plans to boost the export opportunities among other ones,” he said. “Earlier, the enterprise planned to increase the production, as well as expand the geography of export of industrial products to the CIS and non-CIS countries.”

“The plans also include the development of new types of industrial products, their introduction into production. The volume of the products manufactured by the plant since the beginning of the year was up to 1 million. In the next months it’s planned to increase this figure to 1.2 million, with further surge to 1.5 million and above”, Pashazade noted. “Last year, the enterprise manufactured products worth 14 million manat [$8.2 million]. The production growth in 2019 was 10-12 percent compared to 2018.”

Currently, the company produces water meters, gas pressure regulators, gas control points, ball valves and other types of industrial products of wide range.

Ganja Instrument-Making Plant is one of the biggest Azerbaijani enterprises in the field of instrument making, engaged in the development and production of measuring instruments, automated control systems.

The plant’s activity is aimed at developing and raising the level of instrument making in Azerbaijan and creating modern, high-quality water meters, gas pressure regulators and other measuring instruments that are in demand in the market within the country and abroad.

The plant is located on the territory covering more than five hectares. The production area is 6,000 square meters.
