Iran reveals export volume through East Azerbaijan's Jolfa customs

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12

Iran exported 493,000 tons of products worth $222 million through the customs of Jolfa county in East Azerbaijan province (northwestern Iran) in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Fathollah Hassanloui Director General of Jolfa Customs Office, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to Hassanloui, this figure increased by 87 percent in term of value compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).

Hassanloui added that the exported products through Jolfa customs were mainly bitumen, rubber products, chemicals, ceramics and cement and etc.

The official said that last year, 218,000 tons of products worth $473 million were imported. The product imports increased by 3 percent in term of weight and 4 percent in term of value.

Hassanloui said that last year, 493,000 tons of products worth $1.46 billion were transited through Jolfa customs. The product transit increased by 36 percent in term of weight and 22 percent in term of value compared to the preceding year.

The official said that last year, the value Jolfa customs revenues were 2.79 trillion rials (about $66.6 million).
