The Khorasan Steel Company in the Razavi Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) produced more than 190,000 tons of steel pellets in the third month of the current Iranian year (May 21-June 20, 2020), CEO of the Khorasan Steel Company Kasra Ghafouri said, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.
The CEO emphasized that the previous record for pellet production was recorded in the second month (April 20 - May 20, 2020). More than 180,000 tons of pellets were produced in the second month.
Ghafouri added that the company's pellet production increased by more than 9,400 tons during one month.
“The Khorasan Steel Company's steel plant No. 2 produced more than 51,000 tons of steel in the third month, and this is 49,700 tons more compared to the same month last Iranian year,” he said.
The production volume at steel plant No. 2 increased by 1,350 tons in the third month compared to the same month last Iranian year, he added.
In total, plants of the Iran’s Khorasan Steel Company annually produce 600,000 tons of steel sheets, 1.4 million tons of steel products, 1.6 million tons of sponge iron and 2.5 million tons of pellets. The company currently employs 5,000 people.
