Kazakhstan's Nur-Sultan eyeing use of RES at its future industrial park

The possibility of constructing second industrial park in Kazakhstan’s Nur-Sultan is currently being considered, a representative of city’s Astana Techopolis Industrial Zone told Trend.

The representative said that currently city’s akimat (administrative center) is designing the Phase 1 of the future park. Initially, the master-plan of the industrial park was developed by Singapore’s Jurong Engineering Limited (JEL).

The industrial zone official also noted the possibility of making the future industrial park “more green”.

“Various 'green' ideas were laid in the project documentation during future industrial zone designing. These ideas are aimed at optimal use of resources. The possibility of using renewable energy is also being considered,” the official said.

Established in 2017, Astana Techopolis Industrial Zone’s activities are aimed at innovative development of Nur-Sultan city by attracting investments and using existing and attracted advanced technologies, know-how, creating modern infrastructure.
