Jizzakh Special Economic Zone of Uzbekistan increases its exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9

The enterprises of Jizzakh Special Economic Zone of Uzbekistan produced goods worth $23.2, of which goods worth $4.5 million were exported in the period from January through May 2020, Trend reports with reference to Uzbekistan National News Agency.

In 2019, the Jizzakh Special Economic Zone produced products worth $59 million, and exported products worth $16.5 million.

"At the moment, 20 projects are being implemented in the region at a total cost of $250.8 million. Direct investments amounting to $117.8 million have been made in the projects to be commissioned in 2020," the message said.

Besides, four projects worth $179.5 million are planned to be implemented in Jizzakh Special Economic Zone. Within these projects, 784 jobs will be created.

Currently, over 3,100 people work in the enterprises in the Jizzakh Special Economic Zone.

In accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan from August 1, 2019, more than 180 hectares of land were allocated in Sharaf-Rashidov, Pakhtakor, Arnasai and Zaamin districts to expand industrial production of Jizzakh region.
