For the full and high-quality implementation of the 'Digital Tashkent' program, a separate building is being built near the city administration of Uzbekistan, which will house the Situation Center, Trend reports citing repost.uz.

Chief Executive Officer of VEON Group of Companies, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Unitel LLC (TM Beeline) Kaan Terzioglu with the mayor of Tashkent city Jahongir Artykhodjaev discussed new joint projects within the framework of the Digital Tashkent program. Among the participants were also Boris Tadic, an advisor to the VEON group of companies.

Within the framework of the online meeting, a presentation of specific projects for the digitalization of services took place. Kaan Terzioglu and Boris Tadic expressed satisfaction with the results of the activities carried out in the capital of Uzbekistan in this direction, which, in their opinion, is very important for the further development of the city.

Terzioglu spoke about their work, in particular, about the geodemographic analysis and analysis of urban transport, social and joint infrastructure projects.

The chairman presented in detail the proposals prepared in the field of providing public services through mobile communications and mobile commerce.

According to Kaan Terzioglu, mobile applications of public services will contribute to the active development of public services. It was noted that Tashkent is gradually abandoning the installation of communication transmitters of various mobile companies on the roofs of buildings, giving way to special solutions that meet the architectural concept of the capital's development.

Jakhongir Artykhodzhaev thanked the management of the VEON group of companies and the largest telecommunications investor Unitel LLC (TM Beeline in Uzbekistan) for their attention and interest in promoting the development of Tashkent.

“The high level of digitalization of the capital is one of the urgent tasks of the city administration. That is why the post of deputy mayor for the implementation of information technologies was recently introduced, and work in this area is in full swing,” said Artykhodzhaev.

The implementation of the projects is planned to begin this year.

Since September 12, 2006, Unitel LLC has been providing services under the Beeline Uzbekistan trademark. Beeline Uzbekistan is part of the international telecommunications holding VEON with headquarters in Amsterdam (Netherlands).

VEON is a global telecommunications and internet service provider with over 210 million subscribers in 10 countries and is listed on the NASDAQ and Euronext Amsterdam stock markets.
