Trend:

National Iranian Gas Company has supplied fuel to power plants and the power generation conditions have become sustainable, said Iran's deputy energy minister Homayoun Haeri, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He said people in Iran's power sector are looking to reduce energy consumption.

"One of these actions is to reduce road lighting, while public offices will be monitored for preserving energy, including the use of heating systems, during both holidays and working hours," Haeri said.

He added that schools and universities will be monitored for proper consumption of energy, in terms of heating systems.

"Gas consumption increases during winter season in the household sector, while in summer it is twice as much as during winter, so all power plants should be prepared to supply electricity during these peak times," he said.

"Statistics show that gas consumption in the household sector during winter was three times more than during summer and the increase of gas consumption would limit fuel supply to power plants," he said.

Haeri said the gas consumption by households is eight times more than by power plants, and this limits gas deliveries, and this is the reason for the power outage of two days ago.

"There have been collaborations (about the issue) and currently there is no problem regarding the feed supply to power plants," Haeri said.
