The US imports from Turkmenistan will likely be around $15 million in 2021, Stephen Guice, Public Affairs Officer of the US Embassy in Ashgabat told Trend.
Meanwhile, Guice pointed out that the US exports to Turkmenistan will likely be around $30 million in 2021.
“The US exports to Turkmenistan are focused on agricultural equipment and machinery, other industrial equipment, aircraft and aircraft parts,” said Guice.
Guice also named the trade indicators between Turkmenistan and the US in 2020.
“The US exports to Turkmenistan amounted to $31.2 million in 2020,” said Guice, adding that the US imports from Turkmenistan reached $13.6 million in 2020.
Commercially speaking, Turkmenistan buys the US goods and equipment from several major U.S. companies, including GE (gas turbines), John Deere (agricultural equipment), and Boeing (commercial jets), says Guice.
“The US major exports to Turkmenistan in 2020: electrical machinery, chemical products, aircraft and aircraft parts 2020 U.S. major imports from Turkmenistan: mineral oils and fuels, chemical products, precision tools/measuring equipment,” pointed out Guice.
Limitations to meeting in person have certainly slowed down the pace commercial deals and communication, noted Guice in terms of COVID-19 impact on the relationship between Turkmenistan and the US.
“That said, both the Turkmen side and the US side are adapting well to conducting business virtually,” concluded the message.
