UAE, Afghanistan purchase products from Turkmenistan’s oil refineries on exchange

Entrepreneurs from the UAE and Afghanistan purchased aviation kerosene, hydrotreated diesel fuel produced at Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries in foreign currency on the State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan during the last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

In addition, entrepreneurs from Scotland, the UAE, and Afghanistan bought ECO-93 gasoline in foreign currency, and representatives of the business community of Hong Kong and Switzerland – urea. Also, businessmen from Russia, the UAE, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan bought a colorless flat glass, cotton yarn, smooth-colored and jacquard terry products, and denim in foreign currency.

The total amount of transactions on the exchange in foreign currency exceeded $25.5 million.

Transactions in Turkmen manat were also made on Turkmenistan's exchange. Thus, entrepreneurs from the UK, the UAE, and Turkey purchased cotton yarn for a total amount of more than 13.4 million Turkmen manat ($3.8 million).

For the domestic market, domestic businessmen purchased high-density polyethylene and polypropylene, as well as hand-made carpets for a total of about 232,000 manat ($66,217).

In total, 35 transactions were registered on the exchange over the past week.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
