Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz carpet-weaving enterprise woven carpets and carpet products totaling 1.3 million Turkmen manat ($384,177) in 1Q2021, the production growth rate was 31 percent, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.
A new enterprise for the production of carpets and carpet products in the administrative center of the Gubadag district is being prepared for commissioning in 2021, the report says.
So, the new production, which will be fully equipped with modern carpet weaving machines, is designed for 160 jobs.
Turkmen’s carpet is approved as one of the national symbols and declared a state property of the country.
Turkmenhaly state association is the main supplier of renowned Turkmen handmade pure-wool fleecy carpets from Turkmenistan to the world market.
The main activities of the association are the production and sales of Turkmen carpets and carpet products, conservation of hand carpet-making tradition, and regeneration of old carpet ornaments and products.
