Value of Azerbaijan's 1Q2021 metallurgical production rebounds

The value of raw materials produced by Azerbaijani metallurgical enterprises in the first 3 months of 2021 made up 133.5 million manat ($78.5 million), a growth of 0.6 percent compared to 1Q2021, Trend reports referring to the report of the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.

During the mentioned period, 58,900 tons of steel were produced in Azerbaijan, which is a decline of 3.9 percent in annual terms. Meanwhile, the country produced 52,700 tons of fittings, down by 15.1 percent year on year.

In accordance with the report, from January through March 2021, 8,000 tons of steel pipes were produced (a rise of 45.5 percent). Up to 3,900 tons of primary alloys were obtained from unprocessed aluminum, a decrease of 46.6 percent.

Prefabricated building structures made of ferrous metals worth over 5.4 million manat ($3.1 million, decrease of 26.3 percent on annual basis) were produced, other structures made of ferrous metals - about 6,900 tons, thus decreasing by 3.1 percent.

Some 955 tons of flexible wires, cables, and bare copper wire, showing a drop of 44.7 percent, were produced.

The volume of raw materials produced in the Azerbaijani metallurgical industry amounted to 707 million manat ($415.8 million) in 2020, rising by 11.9 percent compared to the previous year.

The manufacture of finished metal products increased by 7.3 percent.
