TEHRAN, Iran, Aug.17

Trend:

Iran's opportunity to export productions to neighboring countries and the regional markets could improve the economy and move from crisis and current situation said the head of Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce.

"Increase of export to neighbor countries are priorities of the new government," said Hamid Hosseini, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Iran's only chance to pass the current crisis is to use export capacities and development of export to neighbor countries," he emphasized.

Considering problems in Iran's trade with Afghanistan, the official expressed hope the expansion of trade ties with Iraq, Turkey, and Eurasia Economic Union member states could compensate for the reduction of the market.

He emphasized the increase of export of technical and engineering services to Iraq, on the other side import of necessary commodities from Iraq borders and re-export from this route could expand Iran's trade with this country.

Iran exported 38.3 million tons of non-oil commodities valued at $14.3 billion and imported 12.5 million tons of commodities valued at $14.5 billion during the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021).
