Iran sees increase in exports from Qazvin Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 8

Exports from Iran's Qazvin Province (northern Iran) increased by 83 percent in value and 40 percent in volume, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through January 20, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Qazvin Province Azizollah Afzali said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

The chairman noted that 621,000 tons of goods worth $398 million were exported from the province in 10 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the exports amounted to 444,000 tons worth $217 million.

Afzali added that the province's goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, India, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Syria, the UAE, Uzbekistan and etc.

“The main exported goods were iron and steel products, petroleum products, copper wires, various detergents, medicines, polymer products, foodstuff and chemicals,” he said.

According to the chairman, over 10 months, 97,000 tons of goods worth $764 million were imported to the Qazvin Province, which is an increase of 64 percent in value and 6.6 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, the imports amounted to 91,000 tons worth $464 million in the same period last Iranian year.

Afzali also pointed out that manufacturing equipment, spare parts, raw olive oil, raw materials and so on were main goods imported to the province.

“These goods were mainly imported from China, the UAE, Turkey, Germany, Singapore, Italy, India, Belgium, Taiwan, Switzerland and South Korea,” he said.
