Iran’s tax revenues grow

TEHRAN, Iran, October 22. Tax revenues have financed 48 percent of Iran’s budget in the current year (started March 21, 2022) indicating an increase in revenues compared to the previous year, said the chairman of Iran Tax Administration Davood Manzour, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.

The predicted average monthly tax revenues in the current Iranian year was 40 trillion rials (about $9 billion), he said adding that the country’s tax revenue in the first six months of the current year was 231 trillion rials (about $55 billion) that were 50.8 percent of the total predicted tax revenue.

According to the official, tax revenues are likely to increase in the second half of the current year as the administration is focusing on preventing tax evasion and identifying new taxpayers.

Iran Tax Administration is auditing 1,000 cases of tax evasion by big companies, and a total of 200 cases of tax evasion are being audited in the current Iranian year by audits from across the country.
