Iran intends to spent over $3.5B on establishment of infrastructure in industrial parks

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) plans to spend 150 trillion rials (about $3.57 billion) for the establishment of infrastructure (gas, electricity, etc.) in the country’s industrial parks, during the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran and Head of ISIPO, Ali Rasoulian told IRNA, Trend reports.

“Meanwhile, in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), a total of 120 trillion rials (about $2.86 billion) was spent in this direction that is 3.2 times more than the in the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022),” the official said.

According to Rasoulian, with the creation of infrastructures, applications for investing in Iran's industrial parks have increased. Companies located in the parks submit their plans and development projects to the ISIPO's branches.

The deputy minister also pointed out that more than 5,000 new industrial enterprises have been put into use in Iran’s industrial parks during the current Iranian government’s term (which has been in power since August 2021). This is 14 percent more than during the previous government's term (August 3, 2017 through May 16, 2019).

At present, there are 851 industrial parks in Iran. Overall, 55,000 industrial enterprises operate in these industrial parks and more than 1 million people work there.
