The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will build 26 filling stations, which will operate under company's brand, in Azerbaijan, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said.
"We will build 26 filling stations in Azerbaijan under the instructions of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev," Abdullayev said.
Construction works will be commenced this year. However, Abdullayev did not concretize the number of filling stations which were planned to build this year.
This year the company invested 10 million manats to the SOCAR Petrolium company.
The joint venture is operating owing to loan resources and will gradually build filling stations through these funds.
SOCAR owns filling stations in Georgia and is planning to bring there number to 60 units.
SOCAR produces and refines oil at its two own oil refining plants with a total capacity of 20 million tons. Annually, 6-7 million tons of oil is refined at the plants.
