Russian Lukoil Oil Company to continue cooperation with SOCAR

Russian Lukoil Oil Company will continue cooperation with the Azerbaijani side within projects in the Russian section of the Caspian Sea, Vice Governor, Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan oblast of Russia Konstantin Markelov said in Baku at a meeting of the Caspian Integration Business Club.

Russian Lukoil Oil Company will continue cooperation with the Azerbaijani side within projects in the Russian section of the Caspian Sea, Vice Governor, Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan oblast of Russia Konstantin Markelov said in Baku at a meeting of the Caspian Integration Business Club.

Earlier, within the construction of oil platforms by LUKOIL on Yuri Korchagin field, a crane vessel "Azerbaijan" was operated. Furthermore, reservoir park required for this field was built in Baku. After the construction was completed, the facility by was transported to the field by the ships of SOCAR.

"Lukoil continues its plans and will implement projects with the Azerbaijani side, we welcome it," said Markelov.

According to him, it is also necessary to create broader system servicing oil and gas projects, develop transport corridors for delivery of petroleum products, "These are projects being discussed by all countries of the Caspian region, but particularly by Russia and Azerbaijan. Therefore, there is a lot of plans for cooperation, and we will actively support and promote them," Markelov added.

Also there are plans to continue work on the development Filanov field, which would allow producing about 10 million tons of oil per year in the Astrakhan section of the northern Caspian, said Markelov
