Kazakhstan increases production of gasoline after modernization of refineries

In January-May 2018, Kazakhstan produced 1.42 million tons of gasoline, which is 9.1 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.

Production of kerosene in Kazakhstan, in turn, amounted to 92,300 tons (an increase of 12.8 percent compared to January-May 2017), liquefied propane and butane - 1 million tons (an increase of 6.7 percent year-over-year), gas oil - 1.8 million tons (a decrease by 3.7 percent year-over-year), fuel oil – 1.3 million tons (an increase of 2.6 percent year-over-year).

The country also produced 842,600 tons of ferroalloys (an increase of 2.7 percent), 1.2 million tons of flat steel (an increase of 8 percent), 63,900 tons of refined lead (an increase of 4 percent), 137,600 tons of zinc (a decrease of 1.9 percent) and 169.2 tons of refined copper (a decrease of 2.9 percent).

Previously, Kazakh Energy Minister Kanat Bozumbaev said the share of import dependence of the country’s motor fuel market decreased due to the completion of modernization of the Pavlodar and Atyrau oil refineries.
