Azerbaijan's export of gas along Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum route rises

Azerbaijan exported 5.8 billion cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) natural gas pipeline from January through June 2020, which is 18.4 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing a report of the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

Some 37.4 percent all gas transported by Azerbaijan accounted for Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum. This figure increased by 2.2 percent for the year.

Some 15.6 billion cubic meters of gas were transported via the Azerbaijani main pipelines from January through June 2020, which is 12.2 percent more compared to the same period of 2019.

The length of the BTE pipeline is more than 700 kilometers. Gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, is transported through this pipeline to Georgia and Turkey.
