Iran reveals data on electricity generation of Bandar Abbas TPP

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 21

Iran’s Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated more than 5.82 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2022), Head of the Bandar Abbas TPP Mehdi Moradi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

According to Moradi, of this volume, 5.67 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated by steam units and over 152 million kilowatt-hours by gas units

The official noted that Iran's Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant is the largest power plant in southern Iran with 4 steam and 2 gas units and plays a key role in supplying electricity to the Hormozgan Province.

The Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation potential of this power plant is 1,330 megawatts. The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320-megawatt-hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt-hours each.
