BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. The volume of natural gas production in Kazakhstan amounted to 978.1 million cubic meters in February 2022, which is 1.9 percent less than in February 2021 and 8.7 percent less than in January 2022, Trend reports citing to Kazakh Committee on Statistics.

The volume of production in the first two months of 2022 amounted to 2.04 billion cubic meters, which is 2.7 percent less than in the same period last year.

According to the committee, 697.1 million cubic meters of natural gas were imported to Kazakhstan in reporting month, which is 31.6 percent less than in February 2021 and 22.7 percent less than in January 2022.

According to results of two months, imports amounted to 1.5 billion cubic meters, which is also 31.2 percent less than in the same period last year.

A total of 834.8 million cubic meters of natural gas were exported in February 2022, which means a decrease of 47.8 percent compared to February 2021 and 6.4 percent compared to January 2021.

According to the results for the period from January through February 2022, exports amounted to 1.7 billion cubic meters, which is 45.9 percent less than in the same period last year.

Some 840.5 million cubic meters were sold on the local market in February 2022, which is two times more than in February 2021 and 22.3 percent less than in January 2021.

Sales in the local market amounted to 1.9 billion cubic meters in the period from January through February, which is 55.3 percent more than last year.
