BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. Iran’s Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated 3.63 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), Head of the Bandar Abbas TPP Dariush Mahmoudi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

“Of this volume, about 3.58 billion kilowatt-hours were generated by steam units, while 51.4 million kilowatt-hours - by gas units,” Mahmoudi said.

The official noted that the power plant generated about 589 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the 7th month (September 23 through October 22, 2022) alone.

The Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation capacity of this power plant is 1,330 megawatt-hours. The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320-megawatt-hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt-hours each.
