The plan for the volume of cargo transportation by road, rail, air and sea has been fulfilled by 99.2 percent from January through June 2020 compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
This was stated during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, to assess the results of the work of various sectors for 6 months of 2020.
In general, transport companies exceeded the plan by 0.4 percent. In particular, The growth rate of the the Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency (Turkmen automobile service) exceeded the growth rate by 0.2 percent, the Turkmenistan Railway - by 20.5 percent, the Turkmen Deniz Derya Yollary Agency (Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation) - by 22.4 percent.
The transport companies are currently experiencing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so their activity is being monitored.
As it was reported earlier, Turkmenistan has exceeded the plan of cargo transportation by road, rail, air and sea transport by 8.4 percent from Jan. to April 2020.
In addition to cargo transportation, the passenger transportation plan was also exceeded by 0.3 percent.
