The operation of four projects in the field of ports and maritime has been started in Chabahar coast area, the projects which are valued at $21 million, said director general of ports and maritime organization in Sistan and Balouchestan.
"The projects include construction of rescue co-ordination centers (MRCC) in village of Passabandar in Chabahr County valued $4 million, full radio coverage of coastal area in zone A1 in Sistan and Balouchestan Province with $2.6 million credit, fire extinguishing project and drip irrigation of green space that would be constructed in Shahid Kalantari port, Shahid Beheshti port and the residential alley in Chabahr port with $13 million credit and investment for construction of storage tanks for petrochemical products by BOT method in Shahid Beheshti Port with $194,000 credit," Behrouz Aghaei, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"Construction of rescue co-ordination centers would improve maritime safety and increase marine rescue teams responses according to International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue (SAR) that could create 75 jobs in a 500 square meters area," he said.
"The full radio coverage of Sistan and Balouchestan province could create jobs for 75 people in 12 months and five radio stations to be built in Pasabandar, Baris, Chabahar, Gordim and Shahid Rezaie Zarabad," he said.
"The project would use very high frequency (VHF) to cover coastal waters in the province and increase maritime and shipping safety based on the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea and fasten the response to emergency messages and rescue operations in Oman Sea," he said.
"The water extinguishing project in Shahid Kalantari Port and drip irrigation of green space in Shahid Beheshti port and Shahid Kalantari ports and residential alley in the Chabahar port is aimed to increase safety of wharfs, traditional boats, landscaping and residential area of the port and improving the consumption," he said.
"The project would create jobs for 80 individuals in 18 months, the project will use five pumping station and four concrete tanks to create network and irrigation," he said.
"The construction of storage tanks for petrochemical products in Shahid Beheshti port would be built with storage capacity of 8.5 million tons and creating direct jobs for 125 people in an 87,000 square meters land. Implementation of this project would create competition in export of petrochemical products in Makran coast," he said
