Iran observes increase in cargo transit via west ports of Hormozgan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 11. Cargo transit through the west ports of Iran’s Hormozgan Province in the south of the country, has increased by 12 percent from March 21, 2022 to December 11, 2022, compared to the same period last Iranian year, an official of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

“Overall, 227,793 tons of cargo were transited through the west ports of the province within the mentioned period,” Salari said.

Also, 104,656 passenger cars were transited to Iraq, Afghanistan and Central Asian countries through the west ports of the province for the reporting period, which is an increase of 21 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, the official noted.

According to him, the mentioned passenger cars were unloaded from 1,811 ships and transported by 17,442 trucks.
