If information on the fact that deputy chairman of the ruling party of Kazakhstan "Nur Otan" Nurlan Nigmatulin retains his post is confirmed weight of the former Karaganda head will significantly increase, a member of Trend Expert Council, the chief editor of the Caucasus Bulletin news and analytical agency Alexei Vlasov said.
"It will be in a way an appreciation of two successful election campaigns," Mr Vlasov told Trend on Thursday.
The expert said Mr Nigmatulin is one the strongest organizers among Mr Nazarbayev's close people, he is a very a tough and exacting official. Moreover such a decision will imply sharp strengthening of the ruling party's role in state of affairs of inner elite forces, he said.
MP Nurlan Nigmatulin who was elected as a leader of the party's parliamentary faction will retain his post of the Nur Otan chairman and he will be nominated as a chairman of Majilis, a source in the party said.
Elections to Majilis (lower chamber of the parliament) and maslihats (local representative bodies) were held in Kazakhstan on Jan.15.
Nur Otan national-democratic party, Adilet, Kazakhstan Patriots' Party, Nationwide social-democratic party, Akzhol, Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan and Kazakh Social Democratic Party Auyl took part in the elections.
