Leaders of party factions at the Majilis (lower house) of the Kazakh parliament have been elected, the Majilis said.
At a meeting of the faction of the People's Democratic Party Nur Otan, Chairman of the Majilis Nurlan Nigmatulin has been unanimously elected as its chairman. Members of the Majilis elected Ergen Doshayev as the First Deputy Chairman, while Serikzhan Kanayev and Svetlana Ferkho as deputy chairmen of their faction.
Azat Peruashev has been elected as the head of the faction of the Democratic Party "Ak Zhol", while Communist Party leader Vladislav Kosarev has been elected as the head of faction of the Communist People's Party (CPP).
After fractions of three political parties, which entered the parliament following the elections on Jan.15, were registered at the Majilis, organizational meetings of political associations - the NDP Nur Otan, Democratic Party Ak Zhol and CPP - were held at the Majilis.
