Kazakh State Secretary Marat Tazhin received the head of the EU delegation to Kazakhstan Ambassador Aurelia Bouchez, the Kazakh presidential press-service reported.
"The parties discussed the issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, a number of priority themes such as prospects of cooperation in the field of external security, including the strengthening of mechanisms for a political dialogue, and the development of trade and economic relations," the press-service said.
The parties stressed that the EU is Kazakhstan's key trade partner. Over $50 billion of Kazakh foreign trade and more than a third of the accumulated foreign capital in Kazakhstan falls on the EU. The EU countries invested $70 billion in Kazakhstan's economy in 1993-2012.
