Trend:

Energy Minister of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nogayev paid a working visit to Pavlodar region, Trend reports referring to the ministry.

Nogayev, together with the region’s head Abylkair Skakov, visited two combined heat-power plants - the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant and ‘Neftekhim LTD’, the ministry said.

At the heat-power plant No 1, which is a part of Aluminum of Kazakhstan JSC, the visitors were told about electricity and heat supply of the city.

At the heat-power plant No 3, being a subdivision of Pavlodarenergo JSC, Nogayev and Skakov were informed about the modernization of the main equipment.

At the base of ‘Neftekhim LTD’, they visited the workshops for the production of methyl tertiary butyl ether and polypropylene. In 2020, the enterprise expects to increase the volume of polypropylene production up to 40,000 tons. In 2018 and 2019, this figure was about 33,000 tons.

During the visit to the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant, engaged in the production of motor gasoline, jet fuel of the TS-1 brand, diesel fuel, boiler fuel (fuel oil), petroleum coke, road bitumen and others, Nogayev spoke about the plans of the Energy Ministry.

“We intend to prolong the ban on diesel imports until April next year, except for winter and arctic fuels. The final decision on this issue hasn’t yet been made, but there are prerequisites for an overstocking of diesel fuel on the domestic market," he said.

“In general, I want to note that thanks to the leadership of the country and the government, during the pandemic, state bodies took measures to prevent overstocking of storage facilities. Owing to this, we avoided the shutdown of our factories and were able to maintain a balance in the domestic fuel and lubricants market," added the minister.
