BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. Kazakh ‘QazaqGaz’ and Russia’s ‘Gazprom’ agreed to increase the volume of processing of Kazakh gas at the Russian Orenburg gas processing plant to 11 billion cubic meters per year, Trend reports with reference to QazaqGaz.

A Memorandum of cooperation was signed within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) by the Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz JSC Sanzhar Zharkeshov and the Chairman of the Management Committee (CEO) of Russian energy company Gazprom Alexey Miller.

“This step will increase the supply of commercial gas to the local market of Kazakhstan by 1.7 billion cubic meters per year. This will enable the Kazakh side to increase the production of liquid hydrocarbons.

An agreement was signed between KazRosGas LLP and Gazprom Pererabotka LLC for the processing of Kazakh gas in the period from 2022 through 2023. It is planned to additionally process about 0.57 billion cubic meters of gas in 2022, in addition to the previously planned volume of 8.1 billion cubic meters and in 2023 - an additional 1.23 billion cubic meters to the initial level of 2022.

KazRosGas LLP processes Kazakh gas at the facilities of the Orenburg Gas processing plant to ensure the stable operation of the oil and gas condensate fields and supply the local market of Kazakhstan with marketable gas. The annual processing volume is about 9 billion cubic meters per year.
