BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 3. While Kazakhstan is setting itself a goal to export up to 4 million tons of grains this year, the country is also looking for new sales routes, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Trade and Integration, told reporters on the sidelines of the forum, Trend reports via the Kazakh media.

Noting that Kazakhstan needs to sell 3-4 million tons of grains this year, the minister also touched on the development of new sales routes for Kazakh agricultural products.

According to the minister, Kazakhstan is negotiating with Afghanistan to open new routes through Turkmenistan, and it is also proposed to use two stations through Uzbekistan.

"We are currently building the Darbaza-Maktaaral railway. I was there quite recently. This, firstly, will give impetus to the development of the region, and secondly, it will diversify the route," he said.

As the Kazakh minister noted, the Darbaza-Maktaaral railway is going to provide for entering Uzbekistan by another road and open a new route to Tajikistan.

The minister added that the road will be built by 2025.

In general, as the Kazakh deputy PM noted, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are negotiating, since both countries are interested in the transit of goods.
