Kazakhstan's economy keeps demonstrating steady growth

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 12. The growth rate of Kazakhstan's economy for the first half of the year reached 5 percent, the country's Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov said at a government meeting, Trend reports.

According to the minister, the growth rate in the real sector accounted for 4.8 percent, while in the service sector - 4.9 percent. Positive dynamics have been observed across all major industries, with construction, trade, information and communication sectors demonstrating the best performance.

Furthermore, he added that investment in fixed assets has shown a growth rate of 13 percent. Inflows of investment increased by 57 percent in the transportation and warehousing sector, 32 percent in trade, 22 percent in agriculture, 21.5 percent in education, and 10.9 percent in the industrial sector, including an 11.4 percent growth in the mining industry.

In addition, it was noted that the mining and manufacturing industries, construction, and the service sector have been the key contributors to the economic growth during this reporting period.

Overall, based on the major macro indicators, Abay, Akmola, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay regions, as well as the cities of Almaty and Shymkent, have shown the strongest performance in the first six months.
