ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 27. Currently, Kazakhstan's project portfolio with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) comprises 24 completed projects, 15 ongoing initiatives, 7 prospective collaborations, and 4 projects in the signing stage, Trend reports.
According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture, this was stated during the meeting between Agriculture Minister Yerbol Karashukeyev and FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu on the margins of the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment.
During the meeting, the minister emphasized bilateral cooperation, highlighting the adoption of the national framework program with FAO in Kazakhstan until 2025. Active efforts are underway to launch the Kazakhstan-FAO Partnership Program, along with the establishment of a joint Steering Committee for its successful implementation.
It is expected that seed production and fighting land degradation will be among the first initiatives to be realized under the Partnership Program.
Concluding the meeting, Karashukeyev extended an official invitation to the FAO director-general to visit Kazakhstan. The minister said that this visit will significantly boost the development of fruitful bilateral cooperation.
