ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 20. There are more than 200 enterprises with the participation of Singaporean capital in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
This was stated during a meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, Yerulan Zhamaubayev, and the General Director of the Singaporean company “Surbana Jurong Group” Sean Chiao.
During the meeting, current issues of cooperation in such areas as electricity, renewable energy sources, transport infrastructure, and water supply were discussed.
"In 2022, trade turnover between the two countries increased by 65.1 percent compared to 2021 and reached $1.9 billion. There has been a steady increase in investment of Singaporean capital in the economy of Kazakhstan. In the first quarter of 2023, $92.2 million was raised. In less than 20 years, $1.2 billion was raised from Singapore," Zhamaubayev said.
He also noted that Kazakhstan will continue to take all possible measures to facilitate the influx of foreign investment in order to remain an investment leader in Central Asia.
In turn, Sean Chiao noted that the regions of Kazakhstan and Singapore are connected by many years of close cooperation in various fields. At the same time, there is significant potential for its expansion.
