Nazarbayev marks breakthrough in Kazakh-Uzbek relations

(Kazinform) - Kazakh-Uzbek relations approached a new level in the current year; Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has stated today at a briefing after the negotiations with Uzbek leader Islam Karimov, reports Trend.

Current year has become a breakthrough in interaction between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in a wide range of directions, N. Nazarbayev noted.

He emphasized that after his visit to Uzbekistan in March 2006 there was realized large number of joint projects. They are opening of the representation Kazakhstans Development Bank in Tashkent city, raise of the number of railway routes and flights to Uzbekistan and others. Mutual trade in 2006 increased for 27 per cent, the President added.
