BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. A total of 1,250 tons of barley has been exported from Russia’s Kemerovo region to Kyrgyzstan from February through March 2023, Trend reports with reference to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor).

In total, 46,270 tons of cereals, legumes, and oil seeds were exported from Kemerovo in the reporting period, which is 46.2 percent more than in the first quarter of 2022.

The main share of the exports fell on rapeseed – 29,700 tons, barley – 5,080 tons, and wheat – 3,960 tons.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the samples were taken from each batch of grain to ensure that the products meet quarantine phytosanitary requirements.

The organization added that all shipped quarantine products met the requirements of the countries of destination.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the country imported 1,516 tons of barley from January through February 2023, which is a decrease of nearly 60 percent year-on-year (3,886 tons in the same months of 2022).
