BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 22. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan and the National Bank of the country, plans to maintain inflation at the level of 5-7 percent in 2024,Tchoro Seyitov, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan, said during a press conference, Trend reports.
The deputy minister pointed out that inflation in Kyrgyzstan decreased from 14 percent year-on-year in December 2022 to approximately 7 percent in December 2023.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, prices for non-food products increased by 12.2 percent as of the end of December 2023, the prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose by 11.3 percent, food products and non-alcoholic beverages by 3.4 percent, and tariffs for services provided to the population by 9.1 percent.
An increase in consumer prices and tariffs was observed in all regions of the country last year. Notably, the highest price increase (12.7 percent) was recorded in the Naryn region, primarily due to the largest increase in prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products (by 19.4 percent) compared to other regions.
