BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. Tajikistan doubled its exports to Uzbekistan from January through May 2022, Trend reports with reference to the State Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to statistics, the total amount of Tajik exports to Uzbekistan amounted to $62.7 million in the reporting period, which is almost 2.5 times more compared to the corresponding period in 2021 ($26.3 million)
The amount of exported goods and services from Uzbekistan to Tajikistan in the reporting period totaled $171 million, an increase of 11.3 percent compared to the same period of last year ($153.6 million).
Tajikistan mainly exports the following goods to Uzbekistan: cotton, cement, and aluminum.
Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in the first five months of 2022 reached $233.7 million, which is 29.9 percent more than in the same period in 2021 ($179.9 million).
