Tajikistan’s economy remains at high level in February 2023 - EDB

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. The economy of Tajikistan remained at a high level in February 2023, even though the growth continued to slow down gradually, Trend reports citing the weekly review of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

According to the EDB, industrial production in Tajikistan increased by 6.4 percent year-on-year (YoY) from January through February 2023, after 7.8 percent YoY growth in January 2023.

The bank said that retail trade turnover for the first two months of the year increased by 6.3 percent YoY, followed by 1.1 percent YoY growth in January 2023 and 6.8 percent in December 2022.

Meanwhile, according to the previous report, the annual inflation rate in Tajikistan reached 4.5 percent in February 2023 increasing over 4.3 percent in the previous month.

According to the EDB forecast, the annual inflation in Tajikistan is expected to set at 6.5 percent at the end of 2023.
