Turkmenistan to allocate funds for development of textile industry

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. Turkmenistan will allocate more than $300 million to the development of 30 textile projects by 2025, Trend reports with reference to Jeyhun News.

The country plans to significantly reduce imports of products, focusing more on development of its own production lines. In this regard, Turkmenistan is working in cooperation with foreign companies.

Over the years of independence, Turkmenistan has invested about $2 billion in its textile industry.

Furthermore, there are about 70 textile enterprises operating in the country, including textile complexes, cotton spinning and weaving industries, sewing factories, silk processing enterprises, shoe factories, as well as plants for the primary processing of leather and wool.

Also, with the participation of foreign companies, 15 textile complexes were put into operation.
